Israeli President Shimon Peres, in a telephone conversation on October 19, expressed gratitude to Aliaksandr Lukashenka for “assistance in the treatment” of Meir Dagan, former chief of Israel`s intelligence agency Mossad.
The Belarusian leader`s press office did not say who of the heads of state had initiated the conversation.
Lukashenka and Peres also discussed “issues of the development of bilateral relations,” the press office said. Mr. Lukashenka reportedly invited the Israeli president to visit Belarus in 2013.
