Belarus Сyclist Tacciana Sharakova Wins Gold at European Track Championships

Belarusian cyclist Tacciana Sharakova took gold in the women’s omnium (multiple race event) at the 2012 European Track Championships in Panevezys, Lithuania.

Points are awarded in reverse order. The rider with the fewest points after all events is the winner.

The 28-year-old Tacciana Sharakova was first in the points race, second in the elimination race, finished third in the individual pursuit, fourth in the flying lap, scratch race and time trail 500m. She scored 18 points.

Silver medalist Ausrine Trebaite from Lithuania and bronze holder Katarzyna Pawlowska from Poland both scored 22 points.

Tacciana Sharakova was European vice champion in omnium in 2011.
