Former presidential candidate and political prisoner Andrej Sannikau was granted a political asylum in the UK.
This was confirmed by Sannikau’s wife Iryna Khalip in an interview with BelaPAN. However, the family decided not to give comments.
Iryna Bahdanava, Andrej Sannikau’s sister confirmed that her brother was staying at her place in London.
There haven’t been any commentaries from British officials yet.
