China and Russia welcome Belarus’ movement towards entering the World Trade Organization, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Aliaksandr Hurjanau told media on 15 November.
Belarus had received tangible support from Russia and China, which are one of the major WTO players. “They welcome our fast movement on the way towards joining the WTO,” said Aliaksandr Hurjanau.
In his words, an agreement has been reached with the WTO Secretariat to act in line with the schedule. “There are positive signals from the European Union and the USA. Everything now depends on our technicalities,” he said.
Aliaksandr Hurjanau remarked that after Russia joined the WTO, they do not talk about the compensation of financial losses of Belarus. It includes the compensatory measures for supporting economy branches, including within the framework of the coordinated industrial and agricultural policy of the Customs Union member states.
“We have internal measures to support the industries as well as coordinated measures in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space,” said the Deputy Foreign Minister.
