Putin complained to Trump about Ukraine's 'attempt' to attack his residence
Aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yuri Ushakov, commented on the latest telephone conversation between his boss and US President Donald Trump. According to him, during the call, Putin tried to convince his American counterpart of the alleged perfidy of the Ukrainians.
According to Ushakov, Putin drew Trump's attention during the phone call to the fact that «immediately after the negotiations» in Florida, Ukraine allegedly tried to attack the residence of the President of the Russian Federation:
«The US President was shocked by this report, literally indignant, said that he could not even think of such insane actions.»
Ushakov also quoted the American president, who allegedly said that the US administration, «thank God, did not give 'Tomahawks' to Kyiv,» and promised to change «American approaches in working with Zelensky.»
Putin, according to Ushakov, noted that Russia would now revise its position and that some agreements between Trump and Zelensky allegedly left Ukraine «room for interpretation» to evade its obligations.
The alleged attempt of a night attack by 91 drones on Putin's residence in the Novgorod region was first reported by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. However, his data on the number of drones clearly contradicted the information provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense in the morning. The President of Ukraine immediately denied Lavrov's claims, stating that with this statement, the Russians were «simply preparing the ground to strike at the capital [of Ukraine] and at government buildings.»
