In Minsk, the 58-year-old director of one of the project and research institutes was convicted of receiving a large bribe. He held this position since 2017 and performed organizational, administrative, and economic duties, writes the agency «Minsk-News».

In the spring of 2021, the head of the institute allowed a new private enterprise firm to participate in the institute's tenders and supported its interests, receiving illegal remuneration of 24 thousand rubles for this. He was detained during the transfer of the last part of the bribe, 5 thousand rubles.
The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 3.5 years of imprisonment with a fine of 42,000 rubles and a ban on holding organizational and administrative positions for 5 years.
Under Part 2 of Article 77 of the Criminal Code, the execution of the sentence of imprisonment has been deferred for 3 years, with the accused required to regularly register with the inspection, not change his place of residence without permission, and not leave the city for personal matters for more than a month.
