23-year-old serviceman commits suicide in Zhodzina

Uladzimir Maksimau got married two months ago.

Uladzimir was 23 years old. The guy is from Barysaŭ. Last autumn, he was sent for conscription service to the neighboring Zhodzina, to military unit 44540.

In November 2025, the guy got married.

As "Nasha Niva" found out, on the night of January 13, 2026, Uladzimir committed suicide.

The reason could be that Maksimau was very worried about an inspection and inventory that happened in the military unit once every five years and coincided with the beginning of his service. The guy was worried that he might be blamed for some shortages and obligated to pay a large sum of money.
