The Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of a criminal case regarding murder and arson in the Shumilino district. The victim was a 60-year-old man who was not involved in the conflict at all.
The tragedy began with a feast, after which the company dispersed. During the night, a 52-year-old man woke up and couldn't find his cohabitant nearby. The man decided that the woman had stayed at the house of the host where they had been drinking during the day.
Blinded by jealousy, he returned to the stranger's house, set fire to a tablecloth on the veranda, and calmly went back to sleep. As it turned out later, his beloved was not in that house at all.
The owner of the burned house was saved, but his guest, a 60-year-old man who had stayed overnight, died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
