Puppet Theater audience leaves without finishing the play. Why?
Yesterday in Minsk, the play "A Young Doctor's Notebook" by the Puppet Theater was staged once again. It was shown on the stage of the Officers' House. Tickets for this play by Yauhen Karneha sell out instantly, so to allow more people to attend, performances are moved to a larger hall.

But one of yesterday's audience members shared that many people left the play without staying till the end.
"It's not about the production itself. People endured the first act (2 hours 10 minutes) (although a couple of scenes could have been shortened), but 40-60 spectators left after the intermission because the hall was terribly cold and drafty. Tickets for the production are impossible to get, but when the long-awaited day of the play arrived, it was impossible to sit in the cold hall,"
— the man wrote on Threads.
"Yesterday we were at the play, 5th row, it was really freezing, the foyer was much warmer, most people went to the cloakroom during the intermission," people write in the comments.

A similar situation, where spectators freeze at a play, is not new. For example, in winter, during a performance at the Trade Unions' House, people sat in their jackets. And not everyone could stay till the end then either.
"I left the Trade Unions' House precisely because I was freezing, even though the play was good. My health is more important to me," writes one of the audience members in the comments.
But some note that a part of the audience also leaves because they didn't appreciate the play.
"They leave because the play is difficult, but it's heavily hyped, and everyone goes who isn't lazy. Those who haven't read Bulgakov, who don't like him, go simply because they can boast – look, I got tickets. Or they bring relatives to cultural events. One such person sat next to us at 'The Farm'. He was on his phone the entire play, didn't turn off the brightness, watched news and weather there, and his wife even snapped back when asked to dim the brightness."
Blogger Hanna Bond agrees:
"All random people who came because of the hype leave the production. People who knew what they were going for stayed until the end. Natural selection. And yes, it's better to watch in a chamber hall, but if it happens, the audience should study the matter of where and why they are going. I've seen 'Notes' twice, an excellent play."
