"I will focus on working with the USA". Tsikhanouski spoke about his political plans for 2026

In the new year, Siarhei Tsikhanouski managed to surprise everyone by stating that blogging no longer interests him. The YouTube channel "A Country for Life" is no longer updated, and the old team has left it — specifically, Volha Takarchuk and Yauhen Saliankou have already created a new independent channel. The changes occurred due to financial problems and a conflict within the team with Siarhei.

Siarhei explained that blogging ceased to interest him due to its inefficiency in achieving common Belarusian goals. But what does he find effective now? We asked him directly.

Siarhei's text is published at his request without edits. This was his condition.

"Goal #1 — restoring Belarus's neutral status"

"In 2026-2027, I intend to continue what I have already started. I believe that if we want to free the country from captivity, we need to shed illusions, set a realistic goal, and systematically move towards its implementation. For me, the only realistic goal for the coming years is the restoration of Belarus's neutral status.

My logic is simple. Based on the current situation, Belarus has two scenarios for developments:

1. Becoming a backward and unhappy Russian colony, a satellite in the shadow of a new Iron Curtain.

2. Becoming a civilized but neutral country — like Finland during the Cold War.

There are those who believe that a third option exists — the collapse of Russia and rapid European integration for Belarus. This is an excellent but illusory scenario. It doesn't require effort from us — one merely needs to await the mythical collapse of Russia. And where there is no effort, there will be no results. The longer we sit still and wait, the fewer chances we have to change the situation. Meanwhile, things are currently proceeding such that the colony option is being implemented by default, and one will have to fight for the option of a neutral Belarus."

"Lukashenka is not in my plan"

For all this to happen, according to Siarhei, three things are necessary.

"Firstly, to convince the EU and the USA of the prospects of this scenario and bring them back into the big game. Currently, Western strategists draw the line of confrontation along the Bug River and view Poland as a border fortress.

Secondly, it is worth convincing Belarusians within the country of the prospects of this scenario. Judging by public opinion polls, this will not be difficult. And the focus should be on people within the country: the diaspora will predictably be against the idea of Finlandization, as they already live in freedom and it is natural for them to promote maximalist demands.

Thirdly, we must obtain consent for this scenario in the East. Some might say this is impossible, but if one thinks carefully, this is precisely what Moscow will come to amidst a deficit of resources and in search of a new balance of power.

Note: Lukashenka is not in this plan. Firstly, Lukashenka's time is running out; secondly, during the fulfillment of the three aforementioned conditions, Belarus's neutrality will be ensured regardless of his desires."

"In 2026, I will focus on working with the USA"

Siarhei plans to shift his entire focus to working with the USA.

"In my opinion, it is there, first and foremost, that the realism of my doctrine needs to be proven. Furthermore, the USA currently remains the only party that genuinely influences the release of our hostages, and the protection of our interests here is simply necessary."

In connection with these ambitious plans, a logical question arises: where will the money, resources, and team come from for all this, as the politician currently lacks one?

"A compact team is required for working in the USA. Associates are already present; political allies are needed. I am ready to work with everyone who shares my views and is willing to exert effort to achieve our goal. The initial budget is secured through Belarusian businesses in exile.

I am very grateful to these noble and intelligent people for their support and belief in me, as well as to everyone who helps me not for grants and privileges, but from a sincere heart. Only together can we build a country for life."
