The Belarusian Republican Bar Association (BRBA) at a meeting of its council on February 13 elected new leadership for the organization. Vitaly Demidovich became the new chairman of the BRBA council, and Olga Korolevich became his deputy.

Vitaly Demidovich is a lawyer with 24 years of experience. In 2022, he was elected deputy chairman of the Minsk City Bar Association, in 2023 he became chairman of the Minsk Regional Bar Association, and since 2024, he has held the position of deputy chairman of the BRBA.
Prior to this, from 2022 to 2026, the BRBA was headed by Alexey Shvakov.
Since 2020, according to the "Right to Defense" initiative, 146 Belarusian lawyers have lost the right to practice their profession, and six are in detention.
