Ukrainian National Team at Paralympics Banned from Using Uniform with Country Map
Valeriy Sushkevych, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine, reported that the Ukrainian national team was not allowed to compete at the 2026 Paralympics in a uniform with a map of the country.
According to Valeriy Sushkevych, the International Paralympic Committee considered such a design "politicized" and warned that if this equipment were used, athletes might not be admitted to official ceremonies.
The uniform in question features a large image of the map of Ukraine, including the depiction of temporarily occupied territories.
As a result of the ban, the team had to urgently produce a new set of uniforms and send it to Italy, where the national team is already located.
