Underpass under Minsk's main intersection is supported by props. Is there a danger for people here?
In Minsk, under the main intersection of Nezavisimosti Avenue and Lenin Street, which is considered one of the busiest in the city for both cars and pedestrians, repairs are underway on the underpass. The underpass is always crowded, so repairs must be carried out with special care, writes Blizko.by.

Some time ago, problems with waterproofing were discovered in the underpass, which began to leak, and then the ceiling began to collapse. To ensure safety, dangerous sections were supported by wooden and metal beams. This type of repair might look unsightly and even threatening to pedestrians, causing concern among residents.

The enterprise "Goravtomost", which is responsible for 106 underpasses in Minsk, decided to reinforce the ceiling without fully closing the underpass. Work is carried out at night to avoid inconveniencing people. According to Aliaksandr Kanashevich, head of the site, this means that during the day the underpass is open for passage, and repairs continue every night.

The goal of the repair is to identify all hidden defects in the structure, reinforce the ceilings, and eliminate potential dangers for pedestrians. All work is planned to be completed by May 2026. Modern reinforcement methods are being used during the repair, and constant safety control is being carried out.
Thus, the underpass remains safe for visitors, and the visible beams and temporary narrowing of the passage are protective measures to ensure no one is harmed during the repair.
