Kefir product with longevity bacteria will soon appear in Belarusian stores
Belarusian scientists are preparing to launch the "elixir of longevity" — a new kefir product, created based on research into the genotype and microbiome of Belarusian long-livers.

Pavel Marozik, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, reported to BelTA that a kefir product with the longevity bacterium Akkermansia will appear in Belarusian stores.
He stated that scientists from the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the NAS of Belarus discovered a special bacterium — Akkermansia — in very long-living Belarusians. It is capable of renewing the walls of the intestines and fighting inflammation, which significantly reduces the risk of various diseases.
"We conducted a study of Belarusian long-livers. Not only did we discover a number of genes in them involved in the metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, associated with stress resistance, but we also conducted a microbiome analysis. As a result, we discovered a bacterium that renews the walls of the intestines and thus fights inflammation. Thanks to it, the risk of diseases is reduced, which also extends years," said Marozik.
So that this bacterium can help everyone, scientists have developed a kefir product with it. This, according to their plan, will allow "repopulating" the body with beneficial microorganisms through regular food.
The development is already in its final stage. The scientist says that very soon, the "kefir of longevity" will appear on the shelves of Belarusian stores and will be available to everyone interested.
