Minister of Culture wants a dress code in Belarusian theaters

Minister of Culture Ruslan Charnetski, speaking on the ONT TV channel, commented on the introduction of a dress code for spectators in Belarusian theaters.

"People should understand that going to the theater is like a celebration. Many people work to create this celebration for the audience — that's first. Secondly, it will probably be an expression of attitude towards the work of these people," Charnetski said.

However, according to him, it is not worth dictating any style for visiting performances:

"Of course, forcibly introducing a dress code is a thankless task. Every spectator must understand where they are coming — that's absolutely correct."
