Authorities declined the idea to sell state property according to approved lists.
Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Siarhiej Rumas said on May 2 that the authorities had abandoned the practice of compiling lists of privatizations in the sale of businesses. “Thus, there is currently no approved list of companies to be privatized later this or next year,” stated the deputy head of the Belarusian government.
However, Siarhiej Rumas reminds that in accordance with the decision of the president, absolutely any enterprise can be privatized in Belarus, which requires the presence of the investor and conditions beneficial to the country.
As it was previously reported, the fact that any Belarusian company could be privatized without exception was declared by Aliaksandr Lukashenka at the meeting on the issues of privatization on March 30.
However, April 25, the Head of State said that local authorities should intensify the process of creating new industries instead of talking about privatization.
