Zofia Noceti-Klepacka wants to support girl Zuzia who suffers from cystic fibrosis.
Polish windsurfer Zofia Noceti-Klepacka who won bronze in the women’s RS-X at the London Olympics 2012, is now going to auction her prize to help her neighbour, a 5-year-old girl named Zuzia who suffers from cystic fibrosis.
The athlete says she has known Zuzia since her birth and the girl is Zofia’s biggest fan.
Zuzia has already been operated on for five times and requires constant care as cystic fibrosis — an autosomal recessive genetic disorder — severely damages al internals.
“Susan is my neighbor, I know her since birth. I’ve seen that had problems, how many times was in the hospital, she spent much time there, her mom.
“Everyone here is praying that Susan survived. Now maybe you cannot see it, but cystic fibrosis is a fatal disease before the Games and said that I was going to London after the medal for her,” Zofia said in an interview with Polskie Radio.
However, it is not reported when and where the medal is to be auctioned.
