Chavez Claims to Win 70% of Votes in “World’s Most Transparent Elections”

While Chavez makes very Lukashenka-like statements, Venezuelan political scientists suppose Lukashenka shares his dictator’s experience with Chavez.

Hugo Chavez, the presidential candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), promised to conduct “the most transparent elections in the world” and also announced that he will become the President of Venezuela. Aliaksandr Lukashenka, the Belarusian ruler, is constantly calling elections in Belarus “the most democratic all over the world” despite the votes are proceeded by pro-Lukashenka election commissions’ members and the final result is announced by the head of every election commission personally.

And the Parliament is stuffed with Lukashenka-approved MPs only.

At a rally in Cumana, Venezuela, Hugo Chavez assured he would win minimum 70 percent of the votes.

“The winner is not the point: he is already known. The point is the lag between other candidates and Chavez. It will be a knock-out, 70 percent what makes 10 million votes,” Hugo Chavez said.

The official results of all Belarusian elections and referendums are usually between similar 75–80 percent in spite of any political or economic turbulence. Dictators’ political consultants consider such figures to make the opponents feel like crushed minority.

Young and then healthy Chavez took 60 percent of the votes at previous elections and even lost the referendum on the concentration of power.

The most popular leader of democracies as Reagan, Kohl, Thatcher, Obama usually take not more than 60 percent.

Chavez’s campaign is based on the struggle with the rich, he is presenting his opponent as the advocate of the wealthy. Still, delivering a speech at a rally last week, he said even the rich will benefit from his presidency.

“My victory guarantees that even the lives and businesses of the rich will be protected. The victory of a bourgeoisie candidate would mean the destabilization of the country, which is not suitable for the rich who likes their calm lives. What will happen if the bourgeoisie wins? The country will fall into a vortex, a real vortex.”

The presidential elections in Venezuela are to be held on October 7.

Chavez suffered from cancer twice, but now he says to be completely cured.

Venezuelan political scientists suppose Venezuela to lavishly support Belarus, as Lukashenka shares his dictatorship experience in exchange.

Lukashenka has been Belarusian ruler for already 18 years. Only the rulers of ruling families in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, North Korea, Syria, Saudi Arabia and other monarchies govern longer.
