Liabiedzka Urges Police Investigate Lukashenka’s Tax Evasion

Anatol Liabiedzka, the leader of the United Civil Party, urges the Minsk Tax Police to start an investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office to respond to the facts Lukashenka voiced at the press conference for Russian regional journalists on October 16.

According to Lukashenka, he was given a Maybach as a present from a rich Russian. However, Belarusian president said he did not use the car.

Liabiedzka calls the tax police to audit Lukashenka’s incomes, BelaPAN says.

“We’re talking about external incomes. Thus, Lukashenka who is the beneficiary should pay taxes in accordance with the present legislation. I doubt this has been done and that is why I found it reasonable to address the tax police in Minsk,” he said.

Furthermore, Anatol Liabiedzka tries to find out when the car was given to Lukashenka.

“It can’t be denied that the car was presented before December, 2010. Then the question arises: was this property mentioned in the income statement of the presidential candidate Aliaksandr Lukashenka?

“There is nothing personal, but when I am demanded an income statement for 17 years, why no one responds to the fast which is definitely corruption laden?

“Maybach is not a bottle of champagne or French perfume. There are things to do for the subordinates of the Interior Minister, not for the tax police only,” Liabiedzka said.

Misha must be jailed

Anatol Liabiedzka also prepared an appeal to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He persistently recommends the Prosecutor General to examine Lukashenka’s words about $5bln bribe he was offered to settle the matter of Belaruskali privatisation.

“The things voiced by Lukashenko yesterday about $5bln bribe for Belaruskali privatization are nothing else but a crime,” Liabiedzka supposes.

At the press conference Lukashenka repeated that Belaruskali was worth $30-32 billion but “some oligarchs want to buy it for $15 billion.”

“They proposed we sell Belaruskali for $15 billion: $10 billion to the treasury and $5 billion for me at an account I’ll designate,” Lukashenka said.

He also mentioned a “negotiator Misha” sent by Russian oligarchs.

Anatol Liabiedzka is sure the case must be investigated immediately and the “negotiator Misha” must be in prison instead Alies Bialiacki.

“If it does not happen, he [Misha] will come to authorities with the case of $10bln, not $5bln,” Liabiedzka says.

If the law enforcement agencies do not respond to such publicly voice facts, it means that “a safe privatization” or simple mass corrupted sale of state property has begun,” Liabiedzka said.
