Asyaniki, also known as asyany or asyeniki from the Mogilev district, are now claiming inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The publication "Belarus Today" wrote about the claims for world value, citing Natalia Homanava, head of the culture sector of the Mogilev District Executive Committee.

According to the official, asyaniki are a brand of the Mogilev district. Natalia Homanava claims that they resemble draniki (potato pancakes), but in addition to potatoes, other vegetables grown in garden plots are added: pumpkin, carrots, onions, as well as greens — dill, parsley.

The local district newspaper "Pridneprovskaya Niva" is already almost confident that asyaniki will soon be included in the UNESCO list. According to the newspaper, the recipe for this dish was preserved by Raisa Ilyinichna Vysotina, who received it from her mother, Olga Avramovna Furmanova. Vysotina told about the recipe during a folklore and ethnographic expedition on September 30, 2021.
However, other residents of Mogilev doubt that this recipe is truly a regional brand and worthy of inclusion in the world heritage list. The publication Mogilev.Media points out that not only is there no mention of this dish in guidebooks on Belarusian national cuisine, but also the interviewed residents of Mogilev and the Mogilev district could not say anything about the taste of asyaniki.
