"Herring Under a Fur Coat" with Red Caviar from a Pompous Restaurant Disappointed Customers
Instead of a miniature cake – a pink mass in a standard foil container.

The gastronomic restaurant Fabriq, which Lukashenka's beauties love very much, created a special festive menu. It offered customers the opportunity to order restaurant dishes for their home celebration.
Among the items was the popular "Herring Under a Fur Coat" salad — though, with red caviar. In the promotional photo, the dish looked like a miniature cake: in the center, a neat mound of caviar, framed by a sprig of rosemary. The price was 51 rubles for a half-kilogram portion (i.e., 102 rubles per kilogram).
One Belarusian woman shared on Threads what she received for such money. And this is a wonderful illustration for memes from the "expectation vs. reality" series.
Instead of a culinary work of art, the woman received a pink mass in a standard foil container. The red caviar was in a small plastic container. But the rosemary was forgotten.
Visually, you would never guess that this dish is from an elite restaurant, and not from the nearest hypermarket. For comparison: a kilogram of "Herring Under a Fur Coat" in a store costs about 14 rubles per kilogram.
Social network users were very surprised that the far-from-budget Fabriq could sell such a thing. But some confirmed that they received the same. Jokes started appearing in the comments.
"But 'Herring Under a Fur Coat' from an ordinary culinary shop would never treat you like that."
"Such fabric, such details."
The Belarusian woman said she wrote to the restaurant about her surprise: "Initially, the answer was that the takeaway order format implies placing the dish in a container for transport. Caviar is served separately so it doesn't release juice onto the salad. The photo on Instagram is for informational purposes, as is the weight of the dish, which differs in the photo. Also, when ordering, you can choose takeaway dishes or place the dish in your own dishware, then it will be suitable in form and decor."
