On December 27, an Ilyushin Il-62M cargo plane with tail number EW-505TR belonging to the Belarusian airline Rada Airlines arrived in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh from Kenya. Its arrival caused a stir in the Thai blogosphere. A representative of the Royal Thai Armed Forces was forced to comment on the situation, writes Reform.

The aircraft departed from Vitebsk on December 25, landed in the Kenyan city of Mombasa, and then headed to Phnom Penh.
Bloggers noted that the flight path was deliberately routed to bypass Thai airspace: the plane chose to fly through Malaysian airspace. No information was published about what exactly the Belarusian plane delivered to Cambodia.
Subsequently, on December 28, the EW-505TR aircraft departed from Phnom Penh for Sohar, Oman. This time it flew over Thailand.
Thai authorities were forced to comment on the situation.
The fact is that precisely on December 27, Thailand and Cambodia reached a ceasefire agreement, and possible arms deliveries to one of the sides could jeopardize the agreements.
Prapas Saengchaidee, director of the press center for the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border, urged the public to trust the armed forces. He stated that the authorities are fully informed about the plane's origin, destination, flight route, cargo capacity, and range. According to him, intelligence units are closely monitoring the situation.
