Flagship emergency medical care centers will be organized on the basis of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology, the City Emergency Medical Hospital, and the 10th City Clinical Hospital. "— And so that situations do not arise where a doctor does not get to a patient who needs immediate stabilization, as they say, 'here and now,' because they are providing assistance to someone in a more stable condition.
According to Y. Horbich, the flagship emergency medical care centers will be equipped with modern reception departments and short-term stay units.
— It is very important that within one day it should be possible to determine where to send the patient after providing medical care: home, to intensive care, or to a standard ward," Y. Horbich continued.
According to him, upon entry to the reception department, patients will be divided into streams.
The priority — "red" — stream is for people with life-threatening conditions. Medical assistance to such people will be provided immediately — in departments closest to intensive care units. This means that patients from the "red" stream must first be stabilized.
The "yellow" stream is for patients whose condition is serious enough, but their assistance can be delayed. In other words, doctors still have time to conduct diagnostics.
The "green" stream is for relatively minor patients who came to the clinic on their own.
