In the title fight, our compatriot left no chance for the Argentine Claudio Daneff, who was contending for Asanau's award, writes Tochka.by.
The bout, which was scheduled for ten rounds, ended prematurely — in the seventh, Dzmitry secured a technical knockout.
The fact that Daneff had long competed in the light heavyweight division, dropping down a weight class, adds even more value to the Belarusian's victory.
This victory was Asanau's 12th in his professional career and his 6th by knockout.
It is worth noting that the defeat by our compatriot was the experienced Latin American's fifth in his career, alongside 24 victories.
Dzmitry Asanau is one of the most successful Belarusian boxers of modern times.
Born in 1996 in Maladzyechna, he has been involved in sports since childhood, with his father being his first coach. In his amateur career, Asanau won silver at the European Games, bronze at the World Championship, and became a European champion.
Since 2022, he has been competing in professional boxing and remains undefeated to this day.
Asanau holds the 13th spot in the WBC rankings and is in the top 50 according to BoxRec.
