On the evening of March 8, many residents of the western regions of Germany saw an inexplicable light phenomenon in the sky. Eyewitnesses who observed it in Lower Saxony, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg, and North Rhine-Westphalia posted videos and photos on social media.

Fragments of the meteorite damaged several residential buildings in western Germany. Police reported on Sunday, March 8, that information about the damage was received, in particular, from the city of Koblenz, as well as the Hunsrück and Eifel mountain ranges in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, writes DW.
The police operational headquarters indicated that around 7:00 PM, a "burnt celestial body" fell on the roof of a residential building in the Güls district of Koblenz. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, firefighters and police arrived at the scene, however there is no longer any danger. According to AFP, there are reports that people were also injured.
