Trump: War in Iran «practically over»

US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with CBS television channel that, according to his assessment, the war in Iran is almost finished.

Trump stated that Iran has lost a significant portion of its military capabilities. According to the US President, this country virtually no longer has a navy, communication systems, or an air force.

«I think the war is practically over. They have no navy, no communication, no air force. Their missiles have been blown to pieces. Their drones are being destroyed everywhere, including drone production. If you look, they have nothing left. In a military sense, nothing is left», — the CBS News White House correspondent quoted Trump.

The American leader also noted that the military operation is proceeding much faster than he had previously anticipated. Initially, he predicted it might take four—five weeks, but now, according to him, events are unfolding faster than that schedule.

Immediately after these words, the price of Brent crude oil sharply fell to 89 dollars per barrel. As Bloomberg writes, the market thus reacted to Trump's statement about the «almost finished war» with Iran.
