Viachaslau Mikhalap is 38 years old. In Bobruisk, he worked as an individual entrepreneur. His company, established in 2022, specialized in finishing wooden houses made of logs and timber: professional sanding, painting, and sealing using the "warm seam" technology. His team consists of three people.
Viachaslau has a wife and three children.
In August 2025, the Investigative Committee channel wrote about Mikhalap. In the report, he is referred to as a skinhead:
"Since adolescence, the man showed interest in the history of neo-Nazism, was involved in the skinhead subculture, and had previously been convicted for group hooliganism against strangers." It was claimed that he "instilled his views in his 7-year-old son."
Viachaslau was previously a participant in ultra-right Telegram chats. He once wrote about himself that he is a convinced National Socialist. In comments, he periodically used Nazi greetings, admired ultra-right music, and called Adolf Hitler "a great politician and the best of men."
It is unknown how seriously he wrote this or if he has changed his views since then, but he was convicted for these messages. Viachaslau's Telegram account is completely open, and finding them was not difficult.
Viachaslau Mikhalap was tried in the Mogilev Regional Court under Part 1 of Article 130-1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — rehabilitation of Nazism.
He was sentenced to "khimiya" (restricted freedom with compulsory labor) with assignment and added to the "list of extremists." Viachaslau is currently serving his sentence.
"Viasna" does not consider him a political prisoner; on the Dissident website, his name is marked "potential persecution."
