“Just a disaster.” Propagandist Simonyan revealed that one of her children is incurably ill
“It just doesn't happen like that. This [all happened] within 9 months.”
RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan told Boris Korchevnikov in an interview that one of her children is seriously and incurably ill.
“When Tigran [Keosayan] fell into a coma, it turned out that one of our children was very seriously and very complexly ill. And it cannot be cured. I don't want to talk about it. Just so you understand, it doesn't happen like that… My beloved went into a coma, 40 days later this thing with the child comes to light – it's just a disaster.”
After that, she also found out about her own illness.
“I'm torn between work, between my husband who is in the hospital in a coma, between a child who simply demands all my emotional strength, and on September 1st I find out that I also have cancer… You know what my reaction was? I burst into hysterical laughter. I just laughed,” the propagandist said.
“It just doesn't happen like that. This [all happened] within 9 months,” she says.
Director Tigran Keosayan, Simonyan's husband, died last September, having spent more than six months in a coma. Shortly before his death, Simonyan revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer, and in October she began a course of chemotherapy.
According to open sources, Simonyan is raising three children, the eldest of whom was born in 2013.
The propagandist herself has been battling breast cancer since autumn 2025. Simonyan began speaking openly about her illness in September.
Later, she linked the onset of oncology to the severe stress she experienced due to her husband's illness: propagandist Tigran Keosayan fell into a coma in December 2024 and died in September 2025, having spent almost a year in an unconscious state.
