Rubio confirmed that the US may redirect weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East
The US has not yet redirected weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East, but it could do so, stated US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on March 27 at Le Bourget airport in France, CNN reported .

"This has not happened yet. Nothing has been redirected yet, but it is possible," he said.
He clarified that it would be incorrect to call such weapon supplies "redirection."
"These are not redirected weapons, these are our weapons. These are sales, military supplies for PURL, paid for by NATO. And the question at some point is that if we have a need — let me be clear — if the United States has a military necessity, whether it's replenishing our stocks or fulfilling any mission in the national interests of the US, we will always come first when it comes to our weapons.
I think this is fair for any country in the world, provided that country wants to survive. So I have nothing to announce, I cannot say that this is happening right now, but it could happen," Rubio stated.
Previously, officials in the US presidential administration had warned allies that American weapon supplies to Ukraine could be suspended in the coming months.
Also, Rubio denied the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the US allegedly demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas in exchange for security guarantees.
"That's a lie. And I saw him say it, and it's unfortunate that he says it, because he knows it's not true. He was not told that," said the US Secretary of State.
He explained that in reality, Zelenskyy was told something completely different:
"What he was told very clearly, and he should have understood this, is that security guarantees are given only after the war ends. But this was not linked to the condition 'unless he surrenders territory.' I don't know why he says such things. It's simply not true."
