A video of a man who sweetly fell asleep on a bus in Gomel with a puppy in his arms has already garnered over two million views. Journalists from "Mocnyja Naviny" found the heroes of the clip and learned how the sweet scene made them famous overnight.
The main hero's name is Mikhail. That day, he was at his dacha in the village of Ilyich. On the recommendation of a neighbor, he took a puppy from a nearby house.
"Two girls, one more energetic, and the other a bit timid, but I really liked her color because she resembled my previous dog. So I decided to take her in and named her Iriska (Toffee)," recalls the Gomel resident.
At the time of the bus trip, Iriska had known her owner for less than a day.
The man was very tired after his work at the dacha. Although he had a carrier with him, he decided to hold the puppy in his arms so that the little one would feel calmer. Mikhail even set an alarm not to miss his stop and dozed off — this very moment was captured on video by one of the passengers.
Mikhail was first recognized in the video by his neighbor, and then messages poured in one after another.
The hero himself treats the popularity modestly and with humor: "If I had seen such a video myself, I would have just liked the puppy and that's it."
Now, three-month-old Iriska is actively settling into her new home and is already learning commands.
Perhaps a true artistic career lies ahead for her: Mikhail is involved in a folk theater and is already considering bringing his beloved pet onto the stage in future productions.
