According to information from The Wall Street Journal, Gulf countries are concerned that a peace agreement would leave Iran a sufficiently strong and dangerous neighbor. Therefore, they are urging Donald Trump to continue military action until Iran is significantly weakened.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are not satisfied with the US-proposed settlement plan, which provides for a cessation of conflict and lifting of sanctions in exchange for concessions from Iran. Riyadh and Abu Dhabi believe this could allow Iran to maintain control over energy resource exports in the region.
Particular concern is caused by the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively blockaded. A significant portion of the world's oil and gas supplies previously passed through it. Now, Tehran not only seeks to maintain control over this route but has also already begun charging fees for vessels to pass.
At the same time, the demands of the parties differ significantly. The US, in particular, demands that Iran abandon its nuclear and missile programs, guarantee free navigation, and stop supporting armed groups in the region. Iran, in response, wants a full lifting of sanctions, payment of compensation, closure of American bases, and the right to continue its military programs.
Against this backdrop, Turkey is actively trying to achieve a cessation of the conflict through diplomatic means. It calls on countries in the region not to get drawn into the war and to exercise restraint to prevent it from escalating into a long-term confrontation.
