Action of publishing house «Technology» certificate suspended

The publishing house suspended operations in early February.

The Ministry of Information has suspended the certificate of «Technology», a distributor of printed publications.

«The Scientific and Production Cooperative «Technology» missed the deadline for submitting a notification about changes in information subject to inclusion in the State Register of Publishers, Producers, and Distributors of Printed Publications, the list of which is approved by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus,» reports the press service of the Ministry of Information.

«Technology» was founded in 1988 and became the first private publishing house in Belarus. During this time, it has published several hundred, if not thousands, of books and calendars.

In February, mass arrests of publishers and book distributors took place in Minsk. Among others, the founder of the publishing house Vaclau Bahdanovich, his wife Alena Bahdanovich, and daughters Antonina Bahdanovich and Viktoria Bahdanovich were detained. Later, everyone except Viktoria Bahdanovich was released. The chief editor of the publishing house, Zmicier Sańko, was also detained.
