At the Belarusian-Polish border, Polish customs officers detained a German citizen who was trying to smuggle beaver skins into the country without the necessary documents.

The incident occurred at the Terespol border crossing. During an inspection of a car entering Poland, officers found two processed skins.
The man explained that he had owned them for about six years and was unaware of the need for a special permit to transport such items across the border.
Nevertheless, the Polish side initiated a criminal case. The transportation of similar goods without appropriate documents is considered a violation, as it may fall under animal protection rules and control over trade in products of animal origin.
