Government raises First-Class Worker Rate

The first-class worker rate was raised by 10,000 rubles

The Council of Ministers on May 1 raised the First-Class Worker Rate from 200,000 to 210,000 rubles.

The decision was made “for the purpose of further increasing the level of pay for employees of government-funded organizations, the purchasing power of their salaries,” the cabinet's press office said.

The First-Class Worker Rate, used for calculating pay rates in the public sector, was raised by 32.5 percent to 200,000 rubles, on January 1.

The only increase in the First-Class Worker Rate in 2011 occurred on October 1, when it was raised by 28 percent to 151,000 rubles.
