Marshes here are as big as oceans, with the seas of cranberries. Almany is the last Belarusian village before the border with Ukraine. The civilisation also ends here, and then a swamp begins.
But such a “neighbour” seems not to cause any displeasure — people leave from the swamp.
Harvesting cranberries is the main source of income in the village of Almany. And there is no other one.
This work is hard: to bear 30-40kg of berries through the marshy areas. This is the daily norm for the cranberry collectors.
How do these people of swamp live? How much can one make on cranberries? Is it easy to be so distant from the civilisation?
