На думку экспертаў, рукапіс будзе прададзены не менш чым за 15 тыс. фунтаў (каля 20 тыс. даляраў).
Верш «Нашы сучасныя лозунгі» датуецца 1899 або 1900 гадамі і быў напісаны Чэрчылем, калі ён служыў у арміі.
У дзяцінстве Чэрчыль пісаў вершы і нават атрымаў школьную прэмію на спаборніцтвах паэтаў, але ў сталым узросце ён пісаў толькі прозу.
У 1953 г. ён стаў лаўрэатам Нобелеўскай прэміі па літаратуры.
