Cuban Woman Prevented from Importing a Lot of Branded Goods from Dubai to Belarus
A citizen of Cuba attempted to illegally import a commercial consignment of branded goods into Belarus totaling 55 thousand rubles, according to the State Customs Committee.

The violation was detected by the customs at Minsk National Airport, where the woman arrived on a Dubai-Minsk flight. The Cuban woman chose the "green corridor," confirming the absence of goods requiring declaration.

Customs officers, however, demanded an inspection and during additional control procedures found bags, glasses, suitcases, and accessories of brands Chanel, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, and Christian Dior in the woman's possession.

An administrative process was initiated against the woman by the Minsk Regional Customs Office under Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. The article's sanction provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the items attempted to be imported illegally.

The duty-free limit for importing goods for personal use by air transport is up to 10 thousand euros in equivalent and up to 50 kilograms in weight.
