26-year-old Andrei went to Russia for the naval fleet. But he ended up in the war and died — his mother says he was tempted by big money
Andrei Gargun, a native of Luninets, left for Russia, believing in promises of work on the "Caspian Naval Fleet," but ended up in the ranks of mercenaries and died. His mother claims that her son was deceived, but admits: the main reason for the trip was "big money, which he loved very much."

Andrei Gargun was 26 years old at the time of his death. He was from Luninets. In 2014, the guy graduated from the local Vocational Technical College No. 160 (today — College of Agricultural Production). In November 2017, he was drafted into the SSO troops, from which he was discharged in May 2019.
His mother, Valentina Gargun, wrote about her son's death on Odnoklassniki. According to her, December 23, 2025, was the anniversary of his death — meaning Andrei died in late 2024. The woman insists that her son was going "not to war," but to fulfill a childhood dream of serving in the marines.
"And there, I think, they were scooped up. They don't go to kill, but to die. They don't let them survive there," the woman laments.
In the same post, the mother admits to financial motivation: "The main reason for the war is big money. When I saw the figures, I myself wanted to go." However, she claims that the promised payments from the Russian side are impossible for relatives to obtain.

The mother of the deceased complains about the absence of state restrictions that could have saved her son. In her opinion, the authorities' mistake was that "they did not impose a ban on travel to Russia from the beginning," which would have allowed young people to stay alive.
"When I saw the figures, I myself wanted to go. No wonder young people cannot resist. The greatest temptation is big money, which my son loved very much. And big money brings great misfortune," she writes.

Now the woman tries to warn others and talks about the impossibility of receiving compensation after her son's death. However, she eventually deleted her comments on Odnoklassniki.
