Konstantin Bychak, appointed on December 23 to the post of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, has been awarded the special rank of Major General of Justice. The corresponding decree was signed by Alexander Lukashenka.

Until today, Konstantin Bychak worked as head of the KGB's Investigative Department.
His predecessor as head of the Investigative Committee, Dmitry Gora, was appointed General Prosecutor on December 23, and the former General Prosecutor Andrei Shved several days ago became Chairman of the Supreme Court, replacing the 83-year-old Valentin Sukalo, who was sent into retirement.
