Greenlanders united against Donald Trump's claims, reports Bild.
In a joint statement, the chairpersons of all five parties in Greenland's Inatsisartut (Parliament) declared: "We don't want to be Americans, we don't want to be Danes, we want to be Greenlanders."
Politicians demanded that the US President stop his "disdainful attitude towards our country." Greenlanders insist that the future of Greenland must be determined solely by the Greenlandic people.
Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but possesses broad autonomy. Only about 57,000 people live on the island. It holds extremely important strategic significance due to its geographical location, size, and reserves of natural resources.
