First meeting of the group for preparing elections in Ukraine during martial law to be held tomorrow
Despite the continuation of military actions, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is beginning to discuss in detail the mechanisms for holding elections and referendums both during martial law and after its completion.
First Deputy Speaker of the Rada, Oleksandr Korniienko, announced that about 60 people had joined the working group. Among them are people's deputies, experts in electoral law, and representatives of the public sector.
On the eve of the group's work, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a possible all-Ukrainian referendum. It is assumed that a future peace agreement with Russia, if reached, should be ratified precisely through a popular vote.
