Russian authorities have published a list of nine people whose bodies have been identified among those killed at the site of a strike on a hotel and cafe in occupied Horly, Kherson Oblast.
Among the dead was 56-year-old Serhiy Bohan. He headed the police in the neighboring Kalančak — formally a settlement, but with a population of about 10 thousand people, it corresponds to a city.
Bohan hails from Crimea, worked for a long time in the Ukrainian police, heading one of the criminal investigation departments. After the occupation of Crimea, he switched to Russia's side. When the full-scale war began, Bohan was appointed to the police in the occupied part of Kherson region — first in Henichesk, and then in Kalančak.
Ukrainian media report that he was involved in the abductions and tortures of residents of the district.
Bohan's wife holds the position of deputy mayor of occupied Nova Kakhovka. It is unknown whether she was at the New Year's celebration in Horly and, if so, whether she survived.
