What is known about the search for the Belarusian woman swept away by the current near Murmansk
Search and rescue operations are continuing near Russia's Murmansk for a missing Belarusian citizen who was carried away by a river current. This is reported by «KP-Murmansk».

On the evening of January 1, 2026, a Belarusian tourist was swept away by the current of the Tuloma River during ice-floating. Since then, the search for the woman has not stopped.
According to Dina Rigina, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Murmansk Region, rescuers from the Murmansk Arctic Integrated Search and Rescue Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the Emergency Rescue Squad of the Murmansk Region Ministry of Emergency Situations, are involved in the operation. In addition, employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels Center are participating in the search, and volunteers have also joined.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code — provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for the life or health of consumers. It is known that the ice-floating activity was conducted by a local certified guide.
Reportedly, despite the tragedy, other tourists did not refuse this entertainment, although the frost has intensified in the Murmansk region.
