Ukraine has begun planning for presidential elections and a referendum, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to FT.
The Trump administration demands both votes be held by May 15, otherwise Ukraine could lose security guarantees from the US.
According to sources, Zelensky plans to announce the elections as early as February 24, on the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.
As previously reported, the American peace plan could have been adopted in the referendum.
Presidential elections in Ukraine, had there been no war, were supposed to take place in 2024, but martial law prevents this from happening.
