Utility workers will only be able to solve the problem in spring.

An old house in the very center of Minsk, opposite the Bolshoi Theater. It has its own "Swan Lake" here. Waterfalls stream from the roof. Some residents sleep with basins, while others have moved out entirely — it's impossible to stay in the dampness, writes "Tochka".
The house on Maksim Bahdanovich Street has high ceilings, thick walls, and a good view from the window. However, the roof's overlap is the weak point of the almost century-old building.
The roof started leaking in mid-January. Water flows in streams in the entrance and in the apartments.
Residents contacted service 115, the Minsk City Executive Committee hotline, and even the State Control Committee.

Tatyana Gennadyevna and her husband covered their bed with film and put a basin underneath. They sleep on one side. In the kitchen, the couple put out all the containers they could find in the household.

Their neighbor moved her granddaughter from the children's room: the wallpaper came off due to dampness.

The most deplorable situation is on the top, third floor. Natalya Petrovna only comes home to change buckets. The walls are completely soaked through. Due to the dampness, it's difficult to stay in the room.
The woman packed her things and went to live with relatives. Her morale is depressed.

Response from Utility Services
The flooded house is on the balance sheet of ZHEU No. 3 of the Central District. They are aware of the problem there.
"Almost every day, alpinists work at this address — clearing snow, breaking ice," an employee of ZHEU told Tochka.by.
However, the actions of the alpinists only minimize the flooding. Frosts will help somewhat — temporarily sealing the leak.
Major repairs to the house are scheduled for 2027. But utility workers promise to carry out current roof repairs earlier — the overlaps will be reinforced in spring.
