On January 14, 2026, at the "Krasnaya Gorka" checkpoint of the Russian customs, a truck driven by a citizen of Belarus was inspected . The vehicle contained frozen cow heads weighing approximately 2.5 tons in total, which were being transported to the Russian Federation.

During the inspection, it was revealed that there were no veterinary accompanying documents for the by-products. According to Russian legislation, in such a case, the products are considered of unknown origin, which can be dangerous for human health and pose a risk of spreading animal diseases.
In response to the Russian side's request to allow the cargo to be returned, the Belarusian Department of Veterinary and Food Surveillance refused on February 13.
As a result, on February 16, an order was issued to prohibit the use of these products and to send them for disposal to a specialized organization.
The carrier was brought to administrative responsibility for violating the rules for importing products of animal origin into the Russian Federation.
