Hannah Arendt's essay collection "On Humanity in Dark Times" released
The book was published by "Pfljaumbaum" publishing house.
This book began with a question posed by Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich to the renowned German expert on Arendt's intellectual legacy, Marie Luise Knott, at the International Literature Festival in Cologne in 2022, writes the publishing house on its social media.
"Can you tell me what Hannah Arendt thought about collective guilt, does German guilt exist?" Svetlana asked. She was interested in the concept of "organized guilt," meaning the fact that the Nazis made Germans co-authors of the crime or passive accomplices.

Since they didn't have the opportunity to discuss this question in detail, Svetlana suggested to Marie Luise to compile a book of Arendt's essays for publication by "Pfljaumbaum" publishing house. The result is the first book by the famous thinker in Belarusian.
The essays were translated by Alena Piatrovich, Volha Hronskaya, Alena Talapila, Katsiaryna Teves. The editor is Katsiaryna Matsiyeuskaya.
The publication was made possible with the support of Goethe-Institut
The new release can only be purchased at the Vilnius Book Fair at stand 5.A10.
