In just two days, the ice thickness on water bodies shrunk from 50 to 30 cm. The Minsk City Organization of the Society for Water Rescue warned that due to the thaw, it is no longer advisable to go out onto the ice, and also named the most dangerous water bodies in the capital and its suburbs.

Forecasters further promise consistently above-zero temperatures, which means the ice will continue to rapidly lose strength.
«Rescuers urge residents to be especially careful, refrain from going out onto the ice, and closely monitor weather changes,» said Hanna Novikava, a representative of the Minsk City Organization of the Society for Water Rescue.
Rescuers remind that during a thaw, going out onto the ice is an unjustified risk, even if the cover visually appears strong. «Fishing, walks, ice skating — all of this is now mortally dangerous,» the society warns.
— Water bodies with the most dangerous situation are Komsomolskoye Lake, Drozdy Reservoir, Krynitsa Reservoir, Tnyanskoye Reservoir, Minsk Sea, — Hanna Novikava told Onliner.
