It is reported that he personally, as well as together with members of the criminal formations he led — the Ukrainian police company and the 57th security police battalion, and also jointly with members of the special SS battalion "Dirlewanger Brigade" — conducted punitive operations in the territory of Minsk, Grodno, and Brest regions. As a result, murders, including mass murders, were committed, as well as the complete or partial destruction of 11 rural settlements.
He took the lives of no less than 1706 people through shootings with firearms and hangings, including at least 238 minors, as well as helpless and elderly people. In addition, Siegling attempted to murder at least 30 more people, causing some bodily injuries of varying severity, but was unable to complete the criminal acts due to circumstances beyond his control.
Hans Siegling died in Germany in 1978.
This is already the fifth genocide case in Belarus in recent years. The long-deceased Vladimir Katriuk (Khatyn case), Konstantin Smouski, Symon Serafinovich, and Alexander Yarmolchik were convicted of genocide.
