Trump stated that the USA no longer needs the help of NATO countries
US President Donald Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social that "most NATO allies" informed Washington that they do not want to interfere in the US and Israel's military operation against Iran. This caused him great anger.

"Almost every one of these countries fully agreed with our actions and acknowledged that Iran should not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
I am not surprised by their actions, however, only because I have always considered NATO, where we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year defending those same countries, a one-way street — we will defend them, but they will do nothing for us if needed.

Fortunately, we have destroyed the Iranian military — their navy is destroyed, their air forces are destroyed, their air defense and radar systems are destroyed and, perhaps most importantly, their leaders at almost all levels are destroyed, so that they will never again threaten us, our allies in the Middle East, or the world!
Thanks to such military success, we no longer "need" or desire the help of NATO countries — we never needed it! The same applies to Japan, Australia, or South Korea," Trump wrote.
"Outrageous arrogance" was how US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham described Europe's unwillingness to join the war unleashed by the US in Iran.
Commenting on his conversation with Trump about the European allies' unwillingness to allocate resources to ensure the functionality of the Strait of Hormuz, Graham noted: "Never in my life have I heard such anger from him."
"The arrogance of our allies who believe that a nuclear-armed Iran is not a serious problem, and that military action aimed at preventing the ayatollahs from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem, not theirs, is simply outrageous. The European approach to deterring the ayatollahs' nuclear ambitions has proven to be a pathetic failure. The consequences of insufficient assistance in ensuring the functionality of the Strait of Hormuz will be extensive and profound for Europe and America," Graham wrote on the social network X.
